A La Botte Rouge

I bought some old postcards of film stars recently and part of the card protection for posting was this pc of the church of St Michel in Limoges. However far more interesting, to me anyway, is the branch of A La Botte Rouge in the foreground.

I would think the card dates from the early 1960s (it was posted in 1967). The building is still there in rue Ferrerie, but the shop is gone, the company does still exist though with branches in other towns across France.

What a gorgeous little postcard, the composition and the colours are just right! I've been meaning to start collecting old postcards but they appear to be hard to hunt out!

Try some local antiques fairs, there are usually postcard stalls at the fairs at york and Doncaster Racecourses.
