Inspiration 1952

60 years ago this month the well dressed (and well heeled) woman might have been wearing this yellow Otterburn tweed suit with matching stole lined in velvet to keep out the chill. I certainly would, especially on a day like today with freezing fog and the pavements like skating rinks. By Michael at LaChasse, Around Town & Shopping Opportunities December 1952.

If you find anything made of Otterburn tweed it is great quality and will keep you toasty on any chill and dank morning. The mill closed in 1976 I think. I have a couple of pieces and they are so warm (and bright!).

I love the idea that the cape matches the jacket--it's a gorgeous look!
